During the winter months hair can become dry and frizzy thanks to the cold temperatures, wind, and even central heating. We’ve put together our top tips to avoid the hair blues this winter.
FIGHT THE FRIZZ
Many of us will know that frizz is one of the biggest hair problems in winter. Your hair will naturally absorb moisture from the air but in winter, air contains less moisture than in warm air which combined with windy tends to dry hair out, causing the dreaded frizz.
To combat the frizz, use a smoothing styling product prior to drying hair and once a week invest in a replenishing mask such as L’Oreal Liss Unlimited Masque which is enriched with Pro-Keratin and Kukui & Evening Primrose Oils to provide an anti-frizz effect.

BATTLE OF THE FLYAWAY HAIR
We tend to use hair dryers and straighteners more in winter. This type of heat will make hair static and flyaway, which then makes split ends more noticeable so make sure you use a heat protection spray to protect against hair damage.Use a product designed to help repair split ends to stop them fraying and a styling product to control the flyaways as the last step in your hair care routine.

BRING BACK THE VOLUME
Winter can sometimes turn voluminous locks limp and lifeless – make sure you get a regular trim to remove any dry and damaged hair and use weightless volumising products when washing your hair. Also use a natural bristle brush when drying your hair, it will pick up all the fine hair that other brushes might leave behind. To get extra volume after drying, use a root boosting spray directed at the roots of the top layer of hair.

SCALP STRUGGLES
During the colder months, scalp problems can flare up such as a dry, flaky scalp. Use a treatment designed to restore scalp imbalances and relieve irritation, itching and dryness. A dedicated scalp shampoo will also help to moisturise and balance irritated scalps.

DEEP CONDITIONING
Central heating can be dehydrating so apply an intensive mask at least once a week. Moroccanoil Restorative Hair Mask is ideal for this as it helps restore hair from environmental elements like the wind.
