Over the last 6 weeks we’ve been hooked on BBC Three’s competition ‘Hair‘. Contestants were picked to battle it out each week with hair styling and hair cutting tasks and one by one they were eliminated until one winner was crowned Britain’s best amateur hair stylist.
Each week the two judges (royal hairdresser Denise McAdam and celebrity session stylist Alain Pichon) assessed the contestants hairstyles, with some getting the seal of approval, whilst others found themselves being criticized for their take on the brief.
Here’s our top picks from the contest:
We absolutely loved the themes each week, from Bridal Freestyle and Sci-Fi freestyle, to Period Drama and Hollywood Glamour. Using hair extensions galore, contestants took the brief as far as possible, creating sea waves, bird cages, hats and even unicorn horns!
The final last week saw Marvin, Dominika and Katie compete to be crowned Britain’s amateur hair stylist. The final saw them creating 1940’s Victory Rolls and Hollywood Glamour styles on their mums and all three certainly deserved a place in the final. With a Katy Perry inspired glamour style, Marvin created his own wig and finished the style seamlessly, impressing the judges and being crowned Britain’s Best Amateur Hair Stylist.
