We do love Nicole Richie here at Hairtrade! And here’s another of our favourite hairstyles – she seems to do the laid back look extremely well!
This week it’s an effortless top knot which is perfect for those ‘in between washes’ days or days where your hair just won’t go the way you want it!
We’ve already done the messy top bun in the style of Lauren Conrad, and this one is even easier. The main feature of this style is to simply keep hair pulled back from the face.
All you will need is dry shampoo, a tangle teezer, a hair bobble and a few bobby pins.
First brush your hair with a Tangle Teezer to make it smooth. The tangle teezer is great for those with hair extensions too but everyone can use it. It’s brilliant at getting knots out of your hair, espeially if you’ve got the dreaded bed-hair!
Spray a little dry shampoo on the roots to freshen your hair up (it also adds great texture for this style). Gently rub your roots with your fingers to get the shampoo working and brush again to remove any last traces of the dry shampoo.
Pull your hair into a high ponytail, using the tangle teezer to smooth the hair down. To make the bun, twist the ponytail, and then twist around the base of the ponytail so that it curls around itself. A good tip is also to plait the pony tail first and then twist which makes it easier to pin in place.
Secure in place with bobby pins and if you have a fringe, spritz with a little dry shampoo and you’re good to go!
You can also spray your style with a little hair spray to keep in place but if you want the Nicole Richie look just leave it as it is fly away pieces just add to the laid-back look!
