On the Hairtrade blog we’ve had many hairstyles for the weekend, holiday, special events and so on, but never for that every day work wear!
If you have medium to long hair, you’ll know how annoying your hair can get when you’re working for around 8 hours per day, but at the same time you don’t want to tie your hair in a ponytail day in day out.
So I’ve come up with the perfect solution with a little help from Whitney Port!
Whitney’s hairstyle here is very effortless yet pretty, but the best thing about it is that it’s practical for work. She’s got her hair tied back away from her face, but her gorgeous long locks are still showing with this half up half down do (a bit like how many of us probably wore our hair as children in primary school! Who knew we were so fashionable back then?)
So, to get the look…
- Section your hair into two (top section and bottom section) and pin the top section up while we finish the bottom.
- Add texture to the bottom section that will be left down by running curling tongs/straighteners through it to create a very loose wave.
- Next backcomb the waves to create more volume
- Now for the top section you pinned up – using a brush, smooth out the top and pull into a pony tail. Instead of tying with a bobble, twist the hair to the tips, then twist around itself to create a bun. Use bobby pins to secure.
- You can also use the very front section/fringe to create a small ‘bump’ and pin back.
- Spray with a little hairspray to hold
