Daniel Sandler Makeup Brushes

For the last few weeks I’ve been trying out the fabulous Daniel Sandler Makeup Brushes so I thought it’s about time I give you all an update on them.

It’s been quite a while since I changed my makeup brushes but recently my old ones have been shedding like crazy – loads of pesky little hairs everywhere.  I’ve had them for as long as I can remember so I think I was definitely in need of some new!

Daniel Sandler is a British makeup artist who has worked with many celebrities and has since released his own makeup range consisting of brushes, foundations, concealers, eye shadows, eye liners, lipsticks, the lot!

I’ll be doing a few reviews shortly of the other makeup but for now I’ll tell you about the makeup brushes.

So there are 8 brushes in the collection, ranging from large powder brushes, to slim lip brushes. They’re made from Taklon, a new revolutionary synthetic nylon which is really soft on the skin and I have quite sensitive skin too.

Fristly, the base brush is a great hand bag size so it’s perfect for taking on the go for touch-ups. It’s very soft yet still sturdy for blending in foundation so that you don’t get that ‘streaky’ look. I also love the Kabeauti brush for blending foundation as it gives such a flawless finish. It’s made from a mix of natural and synthetic fibres and has a short handle so you can really buff in the foundation. It’s great for covering up pores too as it smooth’s out the foundation effortlessly.

Up next is the bronzer/powder brush which  has to be one of my favourites. The size and texture are ideal – it picks up just the right amount of powder and is unbelievably soft for applying a little bit of powder on my Tzone.

Then there are two kinds of blusher brushes – the normal blusher brush made from natural hair for applying pressed powder blushes to cheeks, and then there’s the amazing watercolour blusher brush. This is specifically for applying the watercolour liquid blush (there will be a review on this over the next few weeks!) It’s made from synthetic hair and is angled to get the perfect shape for blush. If you can imagine painting in watercolour – that’s exactly what it’s like when used with the watercolour liquid blush!

The final base brush is the concealer brush. It’s a fine brush that helps to apply the right amount of concealer under your eyes and on blemishes/red areas. I find this much easier to use as it stops me putting on too much concealer and being left with the dreaded ‘cakey’ look and feel.

The brush range also consists of an eyeshadow brush which is a little larger than the usual eye shadow brushes I use but I’m definitely converted now! The softness of the brush blends the eyeshadows so easy that it takes me half the time to do them now! And finally, the lip brush is a very fine pointed brush, ideal hand bag size and also consists of a small plastic tube to cover the end which is handy!

Overall, I absolutely love these brushes and can’t wait to show you more of the Daniel Sandler range soon! They’re available from Hairtrade and prices range from £10.25 to £26.00.
