I love Elizabeth Olsen’s style – here she has the most effortless looking waves which are perfect for your weekend hairstyle and ideal for those ‘day to night’ occasions.
Here is a tutorial to help you get the look in just four quick and easy steps.
1. Part your hair far over to one side (if you usually have a middle parting, this is a great way to change up your hairstyle) and apply a curl enhancing product such as TIGI Catwalk Curlesque Lightweight Mousse (this is great at holding your curls yet allowing movement for that natural wavy look).
2. Blow dry your hair using just your fingers – you need to create those natural, slightly messy ends rather than the styled blow dry look. However, make sure you don’t blast the roots too much as you don’t want any fly away hairs sticking up! You can use a rounded brush to blow dry the front section of the hair so you create some body for the side fringe section.
3. Once your hair is dry and tousled, you need to define the waves. Wrap 3-inch sections of hair around a 2 inch curling iron (or if you’re talented, use your straighteners!) Don’t hold it for too long as you need the waves to be loose, not tight. Only curl the mid to end sections of the hair, avoiding the roots.
4. To finish the style, spray Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine Super Spray to give hold as well as a shiny finish.
You should now have beautiful hair like Ms Olsen as easy as that! The side parting really does make a difference and can transform your hair from your everyday style.
If you find it difficult using straighteners and curling irons/wands, the InStyler is also great at creating curls, whether you want them loose or more like ringlets. You can read the full review here but it has a motorised heated rotating barrel which smooths the hair as it curls or straighteners. Its a fantastic 4 in 1 styler!
